LOT Polish Airlines has launched a recruitment campaign to hire cockpit crew, under the slogan ‘Pilot the future’. The campaign is addressed to women and men who dream of developing and joining one of the oldest airlines in the world. Growing the pilot staff is one of the national carrier’s 2024-2028 strategy goals.

On the 12th of April 2024, a recruitment campaign was launched for pilots wishing to join the cockpit crew of LOT Polish Airlines. In view of the dynamic development of the aviation industry worldwide, the carrier offers not only an incredible opportunity to fly international routes, but also a dynamic development path and unique career prospects.

Implementation of LOT Polish Airlines strategy

LOT Polish Airlines is implementing its 2024-2028 strategy, which includes expanding its fleet and increasing its route network. The national carrier is focusing on expanding regional and long-haul connections to North America and Asia to ensure passenger growth and transit traffic on the Asia-North America route. Already this year, the national carrier has made its inaugural flight to Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent, resumed service to Athens, and from June there will be two more new destinations – Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Romania’s Oradea.

Pilot the future – cockpit crew recruitment

The development changes planned in the strategy entail the need to attract new talents and expand recruitment programmes. Pilot the future – this is the slogan under which LOT Polish Airlines are encouraging pilots who wish to join under the wings of the national carrier. The cockpit crew at LOT is a group of outstanding experts and its strength is based on a number of important pillars that make LOT Polish Airlines a stable and developing company.

What distinguishes LOT is its modern and diverse fleet, providing all pilots with extraordinary opportunities for career advancement. When starting out, pilots have the prospect of one of the best career paths in the region: from narrow-body jets such as the Embraer and Boeing 737 to the wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner. LOT Polish Airlines guarantees training on the selected aircraft type and a permanent base in Warsaw. It is worth noting that LOT’s pilots are assisted in meeting the highest training standards by the Polish Aviation Academy, which provides year-round access to training and modern simulators.

The airline industry is experiencing dynamic year-on-year growth. The latest IATA forecasts confirm that passenger traffic will grow 4.2 percent annually between 2023 and 2040, reaching nearly 8 billion passengers in 2040. This means a doubling of global passenger traffic relative to 2019. LOT Polish Airlines, in response to these forecasts and the implementation of its strategy, is actively encouraging people to join the cockpit crew. As a national carrier with a global reach, we are making a number of innovations in the area of technology and constantly expanding our route network, and I have no doubt that working for a company from under the sign of the crane is a huge reason to be proud. I would therefore like to invite you to apply. emphasises Dorota Dmuchowska, Member of the Board for Operations at LOT Polish Airlines.
