Oradea – LOT Polish Airlines’ new travel inspiration for European tourists

Oradea is a city in Romania’s Bihor County, close to the border with Hungary. It is famous for its unique architecture, which combines Art Nouveau, Baroque, and Socialist Realist styles in one place. The charming streets reminiscent of the belle époque attract tourists, and the monuments remind them of the city’s rich history and cosmopolitan tradition. Oradea is also one of Romania’s fastest-growing centres. Close to thermal springs, including the spa town of Băile Felix, the city is also an excellent base for exploring the Western Romanian Mountains, with their karst caves, valleys and gorges, located within the Apuseni National Park.

‘Ensuring air connectivity is a basic condition for the development of a community. This connectivity depends on attracting investors, orienting local firms towards export, tourism, the ability to travel comfortably over long distances, and maintaining connections with those who have gone abroad. The Oradea – Warsaw flights connect Bihor County to dozens of destinations around the world’ said the Bihor County President Ilie Bolojan.

Warsaw – a destination and transfer hub

With the Warsaw-Oradea connection, passengers from the Romanian region of Bihor gain convenient access to Poland and the opportunity to explore many other attractive destinations available in the LOT Polish Airlines’ network. The Polish carrier also offers a wide range of popular destinations in Western Europe, such as Paris, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt. For those planning transatlantic trips, LOT Polish Airlines provides direct flights to Canada, the United States, and Asia, including Toronto, New York, Chicago, or Tokyo.

Thanks to the cooperation under the PSO (Public Service Obligation) formula, flights from Warsaw to Oradea will be operated with the Bihor region. Ticket prices start at 469 zloty for round trip. Romania has been a member of the Schengen area since 31 March 2024, which has significantly facilitated check-in procedures and enhanced the comfort of travel to and from this country.
