– Greece is one of the most visited countries by Poles and its mainland is just as beautiful as its islands, as passengers on flights to Athens will be able to see. The nearby city of Piraeus is a great base for sailing enthusiasts. What’s more, we have been developing commercial and cultural cooperation as well as scholarship exchanges for years. For the Greeks, in turn, we offer not only a connection to Warsaw, but also convenient transfers to western and northern European ports, as well as transatlantic connections – says Krzysztof Moczulski, the spokesman of LOT Polish Airlines.
Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece, with a population of 4 million citizens. Its heart beats on the hilltop Acropolis, which, together with the Parthenon (a temple dedicated to Athena), is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. For many passengers, Athens is also a transfer base for travel to the rest of mainland Greece. After a visit on the Acropolis and a coffee overlooking its majestic monuments, it is worth setting off on a tour of Hellada. Each of its regions has its own unique nature, architecture and even cuisine or local traditions to offer.
