In each issue, we’ll take you behind the scenes – onboard LOT Polish Airline’s aircraft, into the hangars of LOTAMS and LS Technics, the simulator centre of the Polish Aviation Academy, or the airports operated by LSAS – offering a glimpse into the day-to-day operations that drive our organisation forward. We will also compile the key updates to keep you informed about the activities of our companies and our shared objectives.

The consolidation of oversight for transport companies, including all those in aviation, the adoption of the Multiannual Programme for the Central Communication Port (CPK), the decision to expand Chopin Airport, the development of LOT Polish Airlines’ fleet, and the increase in passenger numbers for the carrier, along with PANSA’s return to investment and the renegotiation of bilateral aviation agreements by Polish authorities – these are, we remind you, some of the most important events in 2024 for Polish air transport.
The aviation industry has emerged from the shadow of the pandemic, demonstrating solid recovery and resilience despite new economic challenges. Remarkably, 2024 was a year in which most industry players, including those in Poland, matched or even surpassed the record results of the previous year.
In 2024, Polish airports handled nearly 60 million passengers, marking an increase of over 13% compared to the previous year and a 21% rise compared to the year before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Poles are travelling more frequently and with greater enthusiasm, but a lot has changed in recent years.
The first thing that stands out is the growing importance of regional airports each year. At the start of the previous decade, Chopin Airport accounted for more than 40% of all air traffic. However, with the rise of low-cost carriers offering point-to-point services and the expansion of infrastructure, regional airports now make up 64% of all air traffic as of the end of last year.

The first Boeing 787 of LOT has left the LOTAMS hangar in Rzeszów after its C‑check. Meanwhile, LS Technics vehicles have appeared on the airport tarmacs with a refreshed visual identity. In 2025, LOT Polish Airlines started the year as the official carrier of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union, launching new connections and serving guests at the newly opened business lounge at Chicago airport. The Polish Aviation Academy, LOTAMS, and LS Technics play an important role in training personnel for Polish aviation. The new year in these companies brings further projects and initiatives promoting aviation careers among students, pupils, and graduates.
