Welcome to the ninth edition of the PGL Aviation Review!
With great pleasure, we present to you the latest edition of our newsletter, in which we focus on key events and achievements in the aviation industry both in Poland and abroad.
In the first main topic, Tadeusz Stachera, the CEO of both LOTAMS and LS Technics, is aiming to rely on the cooperation between and the complementary competencies of the two MRO companies operating within the Polish Aviation Group (PGL).
The second feature: The summer season – now over – has confirmed the exceptionally good condition of the Polish air travel market.

Synergy for the benefit of modern aviation
Tadeusz Stachera, the CEO of both LOTAMS and LS Technics, is aiming to rely on the cooperation between and the complementary competencies of the two MRO companies operating within the Polish Aviation Group (PGL).
The overarching goal is to ensure smooth introduction of Airbus A220 aircraft into the LOT fleet and further strengthening the Group’s position in the maintenance sector. The CEO stresses that instead of rivalry between companies, building synergies – in terms of knowledge, infrastructure and personnel – will be key. The growth of both companies also requires investment in human resources, a process that has already commenced, inter alia through cooperation with universities and technical schools. The conversation also touches on the future relocation of operations to CPK – another challenge that both companies intend to treat as an opportunity for their continued growth.
LS Technics and LOTAMS will cooperate closely to ensure a seamless introduction of the aircraft into the national carrier’s fleet. I think it is clear to everyone that competition between two companies operating within the same group would not make much sense. The first new aircraft are scheduled for delivery as early as in 2027, so the deadline is not that far off. Currently, at Chopin Airport, LS Technics offers line maintenance services mainly for the Airbus A320 model, but it is LOTAMS that operates the largest facilities and has the highest number of staff at that particular location.

Record passenger numbers after three quarters of 2025
The summer season – now over – has confirmed the exceptionally good condition of the Polish air travel market.
After three quarters of 2025, the country’s eight largest airports handled – combined – nearly 50 million passengers, up 11.7 percent year-on-year. The highest growth rates were recorded by airports in Kraków and Wrocław, as well as those in Rzeszów, Katowice and Poznań. Dynamic growth is also evident in PLL LOT’s operations, with the national carrier welcoming more than 8.9 million passengers aboard its aircraft, 9.6 percent more than in the same period of 2024. The results indicate that 2025 will be a record year for both the aviation market in Poland and the PGL Group as a whole.
